The Hon'ble Supreme Court vide its judgement of 04th March, 2020 set aside the RBI's circular dt. 06th April, 2018 considering it to be disproportionate. It further observed that RBI itself took the stand that it never banned the virtual currencies and further the Government of India was yet to take a stand.
